WHAT IS A VETERINARY BEHAVIORIST?

To become a Veterinary Behaviorist, one must undergo extensive training including treating behavior cases under the guidance of a Board-Certified Veterinary Behaviorist, executing and publishing a research project, and researching and writing three case reports. Upon training completion,
a resident becomes eligible to sit for a two-day boards exam covering a wide variety of species and their related medical and behavioral problems. Once board certified, the doctor can begin treating specialty behavioral and training cases in pets.

Dr. O'Brian became a Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorist in October of 2021.
